MAKE IT TO MALIBU

Where else can you wake up each morning looking over the blue expanse of the Pacific Ocean, spend your days relaxing under the sun or venturing to local vineyards on a wine safari, or even discovering some of the most beautiful waterfalls with an in-land hike? Where else can you be a stones throw from some of the best restaurants, the best shopping, and the best of coastal California? Enter Malibu... It’s time to head to the West Coast’s gem and experience a place that evokes those long, golden beach days so iconic to the Californian spirit. Whether you’re in need of a 2-day getaway or are looking for a five-day escape that feels worlds away, there’s no better place to go to than to Malibu. Here's an inside scoop on the two top stays and little takeaway tidbits before you go!

Nobu Ryokan Malibu

Renovated from a historic 1950's era motel and named after traditional Japanese inns, the new Nobu Ryokan is an intimate and romantic retreat with super-luxe accommodations and over-the-top service that's hard to come by. Located on the shores of Malibu's Carbon Beach, Nobu Ryokan offers a truly unique blend of Japanese hospitality and Californian coastline. And it's calling your name come fall when you're in search of the perfect and much-needed weekend getaway!

THE ACCOMMODATIONS: 16 super-luxe guest rooms — 11 suites and 5 oceanfront bungalows — each distinctive and one-of-a-kind in design. The stunning rooms include ensuite fireplaces, sweeping skylights and private decks. The authentic, traditional Japanese-style bathrooms are spectacular to say the least, featuring Jerusalem limestone and Japanese soaking tubs that drain through the wood flooring. Lounging in kimonos never felt more relaxing.

ROOM TO BOOK: Our favorite rooms are the beachfront bungalows, with seamless indoor/outdoor living and an amazing ocean breeze. The private decks come with luxurious loungers so you don’t even have to leave your room to be on the beach or hear the sound of the waves crash.

THE DINING:  Sushi is on speed dial with Nobu delivered right to your suite — breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  If you prefer to have a reservation at Nobu Malibu which is just steps away, guests get a guaranteed reservation. The hotel will also bring in food from local restaurants and deliver it to you!

THE FACILITIES: There’s a beautiful outdoor veranda perfect for relaxing on, lush gardens that will take your breath away, and a well-equipped fitness center with cantilevered glass walls.

THE DETAILS: There’s a house car that will take you everywhere and the attention-to-detail at Nobu Ryokan is superb!

PERFECT FOR: Couples and those who are looking for a 2-night escape from the hustle & bustle of the city.

Malibu Beach Inn

After undergoing a recent renovation and debuting a refresh by Waldo Fernandez, Malibu Beach Inn is a luxury, full-service boutique property located along a strip of coastline nicknamed Billionare’s Beach, perfect for relishing in all of Malibu’s unique offerings. To much surprise, one could call this 47-room gem a Cali-version of the Cote d’Azur — a place that carries the village’s low-glitz ethos, yet lots of luxury. The opulent seaside sanctuary offers breathtaking panoramas and refined design inspired by Malibu’s effortless ambiance.
