Location: Wanship, Utah

Style: Modern Mountain Chic

Vibe: Contemporary Luxury

Rooms: If you love earthy tones and chic minimalist décor, you'll go gaga for each of the lodges 46 rooms and suites. Guests can choose between three cozy and luxurious accommodation types: The Sky Suites, Earth Suites and adult-only Creek Houses. Each of the accommodations offer grand views of the mountains and valleys and are warm, spacious, and adorned in wood, stone and glass to seamlessly blend in with the surrounding landscape. You’ll love the tiny touches found in your room throughout your stay like house-made marshmallows that greet you upon arrival and handwritten notes left each evening with special little facts about the stars in the sky you can expect to spot that night. The room to book: The Creek House. It's open-concept design, indoor fireplace, spacious lounge area, soaking tub, rain shower, and secluded location set back along Alexander Creek truly make it feel like a home away from home.

Spa: After a day of adventure, decompress at the iconic Edge Spa — a cliff-side wellness sanctuary that offers the most restorative and relaxing treatments. This pampering paradise features the most spectacular relaxation room (that you can use even if you’re not getting a treatment), five treatment rooms that look out to views of Alexander Creek and Canyon, an open-air heated plunge pool, and a variety of fitness activities and mindfulness pursuits like yoga and guided meditations. The hardest choice you’ll have to make is whether or not to get the crystal stone Grounding Earth Facial or the tempting High West Whiskey Rubdown!

Facilities & Activities: The sprawling ranch boasts an expansive pool and serene spa, a fully equipped gym with a yoga room, expansive riding arena where guests can get up close and personal to horses, and more! This adventure-filled escape also offers all of the authentic western activities you can dream of… In the summer, go horseback riding through private trails, try fly fishing in remote creeks, hike through the lush terrain and see how good of a shot you are on their 18-course European-style sporting clay course. During the winter, explore snow-covered trails by cross-country skiing, embark on a sunrise snowshoeing adventure, or heli-ski on untouched mountains. A must-try for yogis: Snowshoe & Yoga, where you set off on an hour of snowshoeing or Nordic skiing in the quiet forests before arriving to a high-mountain meadow at a heated yurt for a rejuvenating yoga session next to a cozy fire. If you’re traveling with your kids, make sure to check out the Little Vaquero’s Kids Club that offers fun and educational programs from riding lessons to fly fishing!

Dining: There are a number of different dining options throughout Blue Sky’s property... The signature restaurant, Yuta, is located in the main lodge and serves modern mountain fare for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The dishes are fresh, seasonal, and incorporate organic, locally-sourced veggies and herbs grown at their onsite farm! Whiskey lovers will go crazy for The Refectory at High West Distillery. It’s just a few minutes off-property and offers drool-worthy rustic dishes, craft cocktails, and sweeping mountain views. If you’re feeling adventurous, stop by The Tavern — a remote outpost saloon that gives alpine après ski a new meaning with its inventive cocktails and sweet snacks. And for those seeking a more intimate dining experience, a private dinner in The Yurt is a must! You can expect an authentic alpine setting, incredible farm-to-table cuisine and High West Whiskey hot toddy’s aside a crackling fire.

A must-try cocktail: The Horse Thief at Yuta. It's delicious and for every one sold, the resort donates a dollar to the Saving Gracie Equine Healing Foundation in support of mistreated horses and farm animals.

Highlights: Animals are a huge part of the history here and we love how it’s home to the Saving Gracie Equine Healing Foundation where founder and owner, Barb Phillips and her remarkable team rehabilitate horses with love and compassion. And thanks to their efforts, more than half of the horses that you’ll meet during the Natural Horsemanship Experience are rescues! For a high-flying adventure, make sure to try one of the lodges many helicopter activities. You are picked up right on the property (true door-to-door service), and are then taken to some of the most remote areas Utah has to offer. In the winter, heli-ski to untouched, backcountry trails with some of the best snow in the world. And, in the summer, embark on an invigorating heli-yoga and meditation class where you’ll breathe in nothing but fresh mountain air.
